Responsibilities

Conduct outbound outreach (calls, emails, social) to identify decision-makers in target markets, specifically focusing on the Data Center ecosystem and large-scale Enterprise networks
Identify companies undertaking network expansion, fiber builds (OSP/ISP), or upgrades to AI and Spine/Leaf networks
Research potential accounts to understand their current infrastructure needs, looking for pain points related to network efficiency or complex connectivity challenges
Engage prospects to uncover technical requirements, determining if their needs align with our specific fiber optic and connectivity solutions
Ask initial technical qualifying questions to determine project scope (e.g., distinguishing between simple product needs vs. complex network architecture projects)
Triaging opportunities: Route "run-rate" product sales to the appropriate channel while escalating complex network design or installation projects to the Field Sales Engineering team
Collaborate closely with Field Sales Managers and Application Engineers to ensure a smooth hand-off of technical requirements and customer context
Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, pipeline status, and lead data using CRM tools like Salesforce
Gather market intelligence during calls (e.g., competitor activity or emerging product issues) and report this feedback to Sales and Product Management
Coordinate with finance to set-up customer in system
Manage the quoting, order entry and tracking of products to the customer
Coordinate internally within STL with all customer related quoting and order issues

Required

5+ years of experience in Inside Sales, Sales Development, or Lead Generation, preferably in a technical or industrial sector
A strong interest in telecommunications and technology. While you don't need to be an engineer, you must have the aptitude to learn about fiber optic principles and connectivity products
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital, with the ability to translate technical value propositions to various audiences
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage budgets (time/resources), track activities, and meet specific milestones

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred; a technical degree or background is a plus
