Responsibilities
Recruit & Mentor: Build and manage a diverse team of Sales Engineers and Field/Application Engineers, conducting performance reviews and fostering technical growth
Resource Planning: Manage budgets, project milestones, and resource allocation for global customer projects and training initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the liaison between the field team and internal stakeholders (Product Line Management, Manufacturing, Sales, and HR) to ensure alignment on business goals
Technical Sales Support: Guide the sales team in developing integrated fiber solutions (including AI and Spine/Leaf architectures), analyzing customer requirements, and ensuring technical feasibility for proposals
Customer Presentations: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering technical presentations and explaining complex network concepts to both engineering and business audiences
Strategic Growth: collaborate with Sales to identify new opportunities and drive product adoption within Data Center and Enterprise markets
Project Oversight: Oversee the full lifecycle of network builds, ensuring projects meet quality standards, timelines, and budgets
Technical Escalation: Serve as the point person for complex technical issues, outages, and quality remediation at customer sites, providing expert troubleshooting guidance
Training & Enablement: Lead the development and delivery of customer training courses and workshops to ensure proper product usage and adoption
Quality Assurance: Conduct product evaluations and field investigations to provide feedback to manufacturing and engineering teams for product improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical) or a related technical field is required
Significant experience leading technical teams in a sales, field application, or engineering capacity, preferably within the telecom or fiber optics industry
Experience managing global customers and complex cross-functional projects is essential
Deep understanding of fiber optic principles, network architecture (Enterprise and Data Center), OSP/ISP construction, and testing methodologies
Mastery of optical test and splice equipment, with the ability to instruct others on their use
Ability to design scalable network solutions and support large-scale projects in Data Center markets
Exceptional ability to translate complex technical information for varied audiences, from field technicians to executive leadership
Strong understanding of the sales cycle, contract negotiation, and the ability to combine persuasive skills with engineering depth
Strong analytical skills to resolve critical technical issues and outages under pressure
Preferred
RCDD certification is a plus
