Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of 25–30 litigation matters
Take and defend depositions
Attend court hearings and mediations
Draft and submit pleadings, motions, and briefs
Prepare client and colleague correspondence
Conduct complex legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis
Draft and respond to discovery requests
Review and analyze documents for production
Investigate claims and develop case strategies
Report effectively to insurance carrier clients and insureds
Handle all aspects of litigation from initial pleadings through trial or mediation
Supervise and mentor associates and paralegals
Qualification
Required
Admitted to practice in New York
JD earned in 2016 or earlier
Minimum 8 years of litigation experience
Experience taking depositions
Excellent academic credentials
Exceptional legal writing and communication skills
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues quickly
Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills
