Design & Release XEV Battery Engineer
Ford Motor Company is a global leader in the automotive industry, committed to innovation and sustainability. They are seeking an experienced HV Battery Engineer to define, develop, and deliver high voltage traction batteries for next generation performance vehicles.

Responsibilities
Lead the definition, development and delivery of HV traction batteries for high performance automotive applications
Work with Ford Racing cross functional teams to define traction battery system level requirements that meet program needs
Define and maintain pack level requirements for battery controls, internal mechanical, electrical components (HV Contactors/EDS), battery cells, and thermal performance
Develop and maintain battery level DFMEA including implementations to manage severity and/or occurrence
Define test plans to validate all battery pack requirements and functional performance
Manage trade-offs between thermal, packaging, NVH, and hardware/software solutions
Coordinate cross-functional solutions across component Design & Release teams to achieve pack system level requirements and objectives
Support all quality documents required for manufacturing builds, PPAP, shipping, labeling, test requirements, etc
Troubleshoot battery component and in-vehicle systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar engineering field
2+ years in xEV engineering (battery / motor / power electronics), with a focus on systems and data engineering
Proven experience in system design (fusing/bussing/contactor design/ISC design/Motor design)
Working level knowledge of CAD/CAE with an ability to coordinate CAD support
Strong leadership skills, able to effectively interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders
Proven ability to handle multiple assignments with competing priorities
Minimal travel expected (supplier sites for PPAP if required, battery assembly build sites if required)
Possess a competitive spirit and interest in Ford Racing
Positive team player, ability to work with multiple suppliers, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with high responsibility
Must hold or be eligible for a passport; International and Domestic travel maybe be required
Proactive, self-motivated, and attention to detail
Preferred
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
Experience in Ford WERS/AVBOM/AIMS/eFDVS/GPDS/Integrator systems desired
Ford HV level 2 safety training or equivalent
Experience in leading and developing core documents (DFMEA/DVP/Boundary diagrams/etc)
Experience in CATIA V5
Experience in a CAE environment (FEA, CFD, etc.)
Working knowledge of HV xEV systems
