Cytology Technician Senior
Brigham and Women's Hospital is a not-for-profit organization that supports patient care, research, teaching, and community service. Responsibilities
Catalogs cytology specimens into the logging system
Processes and prepares cytology specimens for technical evaluation
Operates laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, stainers, and processors
Maintains inventory and orders laboratory supplies
Assists other lab associates in performing various lab duties
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Lab experience specifically in cytology or related areas such as general lab 0-1 year preferred
Good understanding of biology, chemistry and math
Knowledge of histochemical reagents, solutions, equipment operation and maintenance
Manual dexterity and ability to work with small delicate specimens
Organized, alert and detail-oriented
High degree of integrity, reliability and efficiency
Preferred
Associate's Degree Biology preferred
Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
