The role involves performing the change out of existing electric meters and ensuring safe operation of a company vehicle and tools while adhering to time standards set by supervisors.

Responsibilities
Perform change out of existing electric utility meters
No experience is necessary, but utility meter installation and utility meter reading are preferred
Ability to travel Monday through Friday within Eversource in Massachusetts service area
Overtime hours may at times be required
Demonstrate safe, high-quality work practices in a team atmosphere
Performs up to standards within time frames outlined by Field Supervisor and Project Manager
Identify and report to management all hazardous working conditions and specifically those that prohibit the safe exchange of meters
Commitment to customer service and responding to the needs of internal and external customers in a professional manner
Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening
Qualification
Required
Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to travel Monday through Friday within Eversource in Massachusetts service area
Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening
Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision
Ability to walk between 6 to 8 miles per day
Be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day
Ability to read meters and willingness to learn to operate new equipment and implement new procedures
Strong directional skills: the ability to read and understand maps via GPS instruments and websites, i.e., Garmin's, Google Maps, Waze, etc
Computer and smartphone literate
Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines
A Valid Driver's License is required
Must have a clean Driving Record, free of any moving violations within the three years and without any suspensions (for any reason); minimal non-moving violations (less than three within the last five years)
Preferred
No experience is necessary, but utility meter installation and utility meter reading are preferred
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred
Experience in the use of hand and power tools
3+ years of driving experience with minimal non-moving violations
