Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert in managing the SF Squadron program to include Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) deployments, formal training programs, and readiness and emergency management
Provides guidance and recommendations to the squadron commander on all aspects of SF programs for military personnel management, budget and management analysis, training, and training resources for drill-status personnel
Reviews all operations, mobility, contingency, and exercise plans to ensure combat readiness for the SF Squadron
Analyzes exercise and contingency plans to determine required SF actions in support of mission requirements
Evaluates all equipment, manning and training requirements to meet wartime, contingency, deployment, and pre-planned tasking
Coordinates with other base organizations on applicable plans
Manages the development of plans for deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and other related plans
Prepares, updates, and reviews the SF portion of the base deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and related plans
Responsible for proper security, classification, and storage of classified documents
Compiles information by identifying shortfalls and recommending corrective actions to Status of Resources and Training System (SORT) monitor on the status of SF personnel and training in all three classified reports
Serves as the alternate SORTs monitor
Oversees the coordination, review, and implementation of SF manning authorizations and military personnel assignments
Creates and implements the unit Force Management Plan for all Unit Type Code (UTC) teams as directed by MAJCOM
Recommends organizational change and identifies needs or problem areas
Initiates operational and administrative actions in support of unit manning authorizations and coordinates with base training, recruiting, and ANG NGB/A7S
Reviews Force Package and UTC posturing
Monitors personnel who are affected by Air Force (AF) Specialty conversion actions and makes team assignments
Implements change to the mobility requirements and resource roster
Monitors personnel readiness
Implements AOR Reporting Instructions and local directives for the establishment and management of AF Deployment Folders
Serves as the SF commander's key staff member responsible for the overall management of the unit-training program by overseeing the planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating all unit training related items
Communicates effectively, orally and in writing, to prepare and present briefings, coordinates planning efforts and manages program activities
Implements and manages training programs, policies, and procedures, as directed by higher headquarters, commanders, and Base Training
Develops, manages, and conducts training in support of garrison and expeditionary mission requirements
Advises and assists commander and unit personnel in executing their training responsibilities
Develops and coordinates training policy and program changes (including publications, supplements, and operating instructions) with work centers, unit commander, and other training managers, as appropriate
Advises the unit commander and supervisors of personnel skill level progression
Identifies training actions required to maintain unit combat readiness
Serves as the subject matter expert and consultant to the unit commander on all matters pertaining to the availability and management of the SF training program to meet the needs of the organization and mission
Develops and coordinates the implementation of the SF training plan
Establishes and coordinates training classes and programs with units and related base organizations
Coordinates annual SF Home Station Training, as well as, any required specialty training at Regional Training Centers or other training sites
Establishes and updates SF automated database for training and trend analysis
Forecasts and coordinates to ensure training resources are available
Develops, administers, and oversees the management of the unit's training programs to supervisors
Instructs supervisors and trainers on the concepts, scope, and objectives of training programs
Monitors the training necessary to ensure understanding of the AF management system
Provides guidance to section supervisors in the selection of Enlisted Specialty Training (EST) trainers and task certifiers
Instructs and coordinates train-the-trainer and task certifier courses for personnel
Directs the certification testing (CERTEST) program
Establishes and maintains the MAJCOMCERTEST data for SF CDC testing program
Maintains the certification testing video and publications library

Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment

Military Grades: E7 Through E8
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: All Series GS-0080 personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Each applicant must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career level, as cited on page two. Applicants must have the experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Applicants must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position's duties
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Knowledgeable on the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System program. Experienced in advising supervisor of any base or site activities that may impact the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems program. Skilled in completing reports and documents the Intrusion Detection System program maintenance requirements to the servicing maintenance organization. Experienced in monitoring Intrusion Detection System false and nuisance alarms and knowledgeable on how to request assistance from the maintenance organization to resolve problems and deficiency. Experienced on coordinating with maintenance and materiel management functions to ensure sufficient spare parts and maintenance are available to support the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems equipment and component. Experienced in working the Security Forces Management Information System. Experienced in performing and enforcing Security Forces duties, that may included apprehending and detaining violators of laws, rules, and regulations and turning these violators over to the Federal or civil police or other law enforcement officers for arrest and posting of collateral
