ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ASSISTANT 5 - 74061
The State of Tennessee is responsible for ensuring the safety and general welfare of the public through its Department of Safety and Homeland Security. The Admin Services Assistant 5 position is tasked with overseeing compliance reviews, developing training materials, and managing equipment inventory processes within the CDI Grant division.

Responsibilities
Conduct regular and detailed compliance reviews of various Commercial Drivers License (CDL) records to ensure alignment with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
Identify and document compliance violations when needed; recommend corrective actions and follow up to ensure full remediation
Create and update training materials for CDL examiners, administrative staff, and training providers, while ensuring content meets FMCSA guidelines
Organize and lead training sessions and refresher courses both in-person and virtually, while managing the CDL Training Officers
Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessment scores, and compliance performance indicators
Ensure all CDL testing equipment is calibrated, functional, and compliant with testing standards and accessibility requirements. Additionally, the role coordinates procurement, and approves various invoices when needed
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
Experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) full-time increasingly responsible professional staff administrative experience
Qualifying full-time increasingly responsible sub professional, paraprofessional, or professional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years
Additional graduate coursework in public administration, business administration, or other acceptable field may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years
Four years of increasingly responsible professional administrative services experience with the State of Tennessee
This position requires a criminal background check
