Senior Levele-Zest – An Accion Labs Company is seeking an experienced On-Site PostgreSQL Service Engineer to join their Support and Services team. This role involves administering and optimizing PostgreSQL database environments, supporting Kubernetes-based deployments, and leading Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration initiatives.

Responsibilities
Administer and maintain production PostgreSQL environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
Perform database monitoring, tuning, and optimization to meet SLAs
Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
Execute database upgrades, patching, and maintenance with minimal disruption
Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance and availability issues
Deploy and manage PostgreSQL databases within Kubernetes environments
Configure and maintain PostgreSQL operators and StatefulSets for containerized deployments
Implement persistent storage solutions and manage database scaling in Kubernetes clusters
Collaborate with infrastructure teams on cluster configuration and resource optimization
Lead technical aspects of Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migrations
Assess Oracle schemas, objects, and dependencies for migration planning
Perform schema conversions, data migrations, and validation testing
Work with application teams to resolve compatibility issues
Assist developers in modifying SQL queries, stored procedures, and application code for PostgreSQL
Provide guidance on PostgreSQL best practices and Oracle feature equivalents
Document migration processes and lessons learned
Act as a technical liaison between DBA and development teams
Consult on database design, query optimization, and PostgreSQL-specific features
Review and optimize application database access patterns
Conduct training sessions and knowledge transfer for development teams
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for database environments
Develop and refine SOPs for database operations
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
Stay current with PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and industry best practices
Qualification
Required
Experience administering and optimizing PostgreSQL database environments
Strong collaboration skills to assist development teams during application migrations
Ability to perform database monitoring, tuning, and optimization to meet SLAs
Experience implementing and managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
Ability to execute database upgrades, patching, and maintenance with minimal disruption
Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex database performance and availability issues
Experience deploying and managing PostgreSQL databases within Kubernetes environments
