Responsibilities
Engage with customer for initial requirement gathering, present Wipro's existing Datacenter & Mainframe offerings and lead customized solution presentations
Architect winning solutions as part of the bid cycle process for large Mainframe deals
Design and define overall solution framework for the Mainframe component of a bid and be the technical anchor for solution design, customer positioning and delivery readiness of the solution
Finalize right fit Mainframe solution based on the customer's requirement, industry vertical, and customer's IT landscape
Viewing an opportunity holistically and recommending Datacenter Transformational solutions and service improvements
Work with cross functional teams to develop commercial models
Work with larger Wipro teams in creating overall value proposition
Will be accountable for Mainframe solution design, sizing & commercials
Mainframe Senior Solutions Architect leverages knowledge of IBM mainframe technology to help document, shape, and direct the technology roadmap for our clients
Work directly with Management/Leadership to identify and address technology gaps, strategic goals, and business imperatives impacted by infrastructure technologies
Develop methodologies to integrate technology innovation with existing governance and enterprise architecture processes
Provide fully costed solution architecture to meet client and prospective client requests. Maintain and update documentation related to organization-wide IT activities and technology roadmaps
Communicate progress and direction through formal presentations, collaborative meetings, and content publishing to mixed audiences
Responsible for written design of the infrastructure solution that meets or exceeds the requirements utilizing a reference architecture
Qualification
Required
12+ years of Mainframe IT Infrastructure Services experience
Comprehensive solution design and architecting experience for IBM Mainframe and underlying technologies
Prior working experience or related as Mainframe solution Architect/ Pre-Sales Solution Architect with large IT Service firms or top consulting companies
Exposure to the Design, Build and Run phase of Datacenter engagements specifically Datacenter migrations related to Mainframe platform
Working with the sales/presales/account team to create opportunities and development of solutions
Ability to envision and solution for Mainframe modernization overall with specific focus on infrastructure components
Ability to paint a transformational end state roadmap for the client's Mainframe estate
Sound communication skills with exposure to CXO level discussions
Lead discussions with client and jointly work out best fit strategy and roadmap on the Mainframe legacy architecture
Experience in delivery of Mainframe infrastructure projects
Bachelor's degree
Overall 12+ years of experience in Mainframe infrastructure projects of which 3+ years' experience should be in Mainframe Presales
Experience as a Systems Programmer supporting Mainframe environments
Good understanding of Mainframe infrastructure (Server, Storage - DASD, Tape, DR, Data Networking & Security)
Sound knowledge of Mainframe IBM and ISV software stacks and related licensing models
Good understanding of planning and execution of Mainframe workload migration
Preferred
Experience in IBM i (AS400/iSeries) and AIX environments
Understanding of Midrange cloud solutioning such as Skytap, PowerVS
