Administrative Assistant for the Landlord Tenant Litigation Division

The City of New York's Department of Housing Preservation Development (HPD) is dedicated to promoting quality and affordability in housing. They are seeking an Administrative Assistant to support attorneys and staff in the Landlord Tenant Litigation Division by providing essential administrative support related to landlord/tenant and housing court matters.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support services to the Deputy General Counsel for the Landlord Tenant Litigation Division (LTLD) and other attorneys and support staff in LTLD
Duties will include word processing, preparation, and distribution of daily court calendars
Responsibilities will also include accepting the service of subpoenas, summons, and other legal documents served on HPD
Must property distribute legal documents to the appropriate divisions at HPD and the Law Department
Must maintain and update on a regular basis all computer systems used by LTLD

Required

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills
