Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble testing apparatuses to support testing and development of commercial HVAC products
Learn HVAC product certification standards
Perform electrical and mechanical modifications to test units and components
Fabricate and assemble testing apparatuses to support testing and development of commercial HVAC products
Understanding of HVAC product certification standards
Accurately record and document test data utilizing data systems and MS Office applications
Calibrate test equipment
Troubleshoot units or instrumentation issues
Run performance testing on HVAC equipment according to the ASHRAE / UL standards to support the HVAC Commercial Engineering team, including setting up, instrumenting, and testing of Client rooftop units
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years HVAC or maintenance experience required; however, additional education may be considered in place of years or experience
Must obtain EPA refrigerant certification EPA608 within 60 days of start date to remain eligible for position, at their own expense
Preferred
Experience with basic electrical wiring (3 phase electrical experience a plus)
Experience working with combustible and pressurized gasses
Experience with refrigeration cycles and components used within those cycles
Proficiency in brazing preferred
Ability to read and understand test procedures
Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to communicate effectively, follow oral and written instructions
Ability to write clear, concise, and consistent emails
Strong safety record
Ability to multitask and shift priorities with very short notice
