Category Manager
Akkodis is a company seeking a Category Manager for a contract role with a medical device manufacturer in Bloomington, IN. The role involves developing and executing strategic sourcing plans, conducting market analysis, managing supplier relationships, and mitigating supply risks while achieving procurement goals.
Responsibilities
Create and lead the implementation comprehensive Category strategy for assigned category(ies) aligned to stakeholder's goals and the company’s goals
Develop and or support a robust Category strategy for all assigned areas ensuring alignment to the business needs including consideration of market trends, application of technology, risk management, quality assurance, data protection, information security, compliance, processes, and benchmarking
Effectively manage key stakeholders related to the assigned Category
Apply a robust RFx strategic sourcing methodology and negotiate supplier agreements/contracts for goods and services
Solve complex problems important to the success of the organization and draw on experience to successfully negotiate lowest total cost of ownership/best price, OTD, Lead-Times, Customer Satisfaction, and Quality
Oversee the supplier assessment and qualification process
Provide category expertise to the global business
Build strong relationships with our suppliers and partners
Identify opportunities for the deployment of new technologies for enabling processes which support the Category
Analyze price and costs with the intention of benchmarking best practices and pricing
Assess internal & external client requirements and translate those requirements to meet stakeholder expectations
Lead Market Analysis
Must work and interact effectively and professionally with others throughout various levels of the global organization
Ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
Qualification
Required
Requires a Bachelor's Degree or relevant equivalent experience
Minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a complex supply chain organization
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills and teamwork
Must be knowledgeable of procurement systems, tools, policies, and procedures
Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
Must work and interact effectively and professionally with others throughout various levels of the global organization
Ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
Preferred
Master's Degree a plus
Both Direct and Indirect Procurement experience a plus
CPSM or CPM or other certification desired
May have broad knowledge of project management
Demonstrated technical capacity to solve problems and instantiate solutions in working code
Experience building software platform from the ground-up, creating standards, guidelines and development methods
Software systems development for complex automation and image processing
Experience in controls and/or robotic systems
Experience implementing complex medical products
Practical programming experience developing software for a commercial product involving significant capital equipment
Experience leading a complex software program with multiple simultaneous projects
Comfortable interacting directly with executive team - explaining technical concepts to non-technical people
Hands-on experience developing real-time software
