Responsibilities
Collecting appropriations request forms and related contact information/procedures from Congressional offices and inputting data into tracking spreadsheet and reporting findings to Congressional affairs team
Tracking appropriations request data and deadlines for all House and Senate offices to ensure timely and complete submissions
Drafting and submitting appropriations request forms and accompanying documents to Congressional offices
Helping to promote grassroots advocacy campaigns and recruit new advocacy supporters to HALO’s network
Representing HALO in virtual and in person meetings and events with Congressional offices and stakeholders
Supporting the planning and implementation of virtual and in-person events
Assist with data management and mailings
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Enthusiastic intern who is interested in US politics and international affairs
Ability to support HALO's Congressional engagement
Ability to influence the Congressional appropriations process
Strong organizational skills to collect appropriations request forms and related contact information/procedures from Congressional offices
Ability to input data into tracking spreadsheet and report findings to Congressional affairs team
Ability to track appropriations request data and deadlines for all House and Senate offices
Ability to draft and submit appropriations request forms and accompanying documents to Congressional offices
Ability to help promote grassroots advocacy campaigns and recruit new advocacy supporters
Ability to represent HALO in virtual and in-person meetings and events with Congressional offices and stakeholders
Ability to support the planning and implementation of virtual and in-person events
