Responsibilities
Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling
Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. Must be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas
Review, interpret and negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback
Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts
Proactively promote industry best practices
May manage relationships with key vendors/partners
Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. creation of Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc
Testing, simulation and measuring (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems
Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
Solve complex problems
Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams
Analyze and interpret data and information
Recommend modifications for systems
Create reports and documentation
May be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas
Must effectively mentor junior level engineers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
11 to 14 years of experience
Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects
Demonstrate solid understanding of the technical, financial and people aspects of the project
Ability to create a project/change management plan and ensure that the project is delivered within the assigned time and budget
Ability to recognize project barriers and develop mitigation plan
Demonstrate 'People & Team Leadership Behaviors' as per Celestica Leadership Imperatives
Must effectively mentor more junior engineers
Ability to create financial plans for your projects
Align financial plans internally with your line of management and other functions
Create project plans, profitability calculations, risk and sensitivity analysis
Ability to recognize barriers and mitigate profitability risks
Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to customer leadership and engineers

Knowledge of Project Quoting: Estimation, Scope of Work Management
Knowledge of Systems Engineering: V-Model, Architecture, Requirement Decomposition into multiple discipline focus, DFMEA, DFx, Interface Control Documentation
Knowledge of Standards / Regulatory Compliance: 60601 and 60950 series, 62304 & 13471 understanding a plus
Knowledge of EMC: System & Board level EMC success with Radiated & Conducted Immunity and Emissions, ESD
