Responsibilities
Design & Planning: Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for fiber optic and broadband network builds (aerial/underground)
Compliance & Permitting: Ensure designs meet local, state, and federal codes; prepare and stamp engineering drawings for regulatory approval (AHJ)
Technical Leadership: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), troubleshoot complex design problems, and lead technical coordination
Field Coordination: Conduct field investigations, review site data, and coordinate with property owners for easements, right-of-ways, and pole attachments
Project Oversight: Oversee the creation of GIS data, utility matrices, permit tracking, and provide technical direction to field teams
Reporting: Generate design reports detailing methodology, issues (easements, pole gaps), and project scope
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
PE License
Proven experience in OSP fiber design, network deployment, and telecom project management
Proficiency with GIS software, telecom design principles, and network topology
Strong ability to interface with clients, field teams, and regulatory bodies
