Director of Business Development (DOD)
Synergy is a premier implementer of cutting-edge software solutions, seeking a dynamic Business Development Director to drive growth efforts focused primarily on defense and local civilian agencies. The role involves developing relationships with customers and partners, identifying and executing opportunity capture, and creating effective account development strategies.
Responsibilities
Identify and develop DoD pipeline with a focus on software development, low-code no-code platform, cloud, and AI opportunities
Develop and execute strategic and tactical contact and qualification plans for the capture of key opportunities
Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and develop marketing strategies
Participate in bid decisions, development of cost strategies, and lead phase reviews
Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities
Support creation and execution of multi-year business development strategies
Participate in R&D and B&P planning efforts
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 8 years of relevant BD experience to include meaningful DoD expertise
Demonstrated experience in delivering technology solutions to the Federal Government
Track record of success in leading and winning contracts >$50M
Ability to identify, establish, and leverage important customer relationships with senior-level officials and program stakeholders within the defense and intelligence communities
Experience leading opportunity captures, including developing overall win strategy; shaping deals with customers; developing teaming strategies, identifying and closing with teammates; and understanding pricing and assisting in developing winning price
Demonstrated background in solution selling and developing new markets with proven leadership from inception to fruition of a strategic campaign
Direct and support new business development opportunities to improve the company's business portfolio to include marketing and customer call plans
Ability to develop, document, and execute a plan for achieving awards/growth
Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the market
Excellent written communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers
Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline
Preferred
Experience briefing senior executives on functional areas of expertise
Experience with information security regulations or regulatory bodies
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Possession of excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, planning, organizational, and client facilitation skills
Possession of excellent interpersonal skills, including comprehension, conflict resolution, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
Possession of excellent client-ready verbal and written communication skills
