Responsibilities

Plans and oversees production control projects, including inspection, repair, modification, and fabrication or kit building

Conducts all phases of production planning, including estimating, scheduling, and expediting for repair, modification, and fabrication operations

Reviews and analyzes schedules, references, and directives to determine project requirements, interpreting manufacturing data and standards

Determines the necessary machinery, equipment, work processes, and personnel required for each project

Researches and identifies sources for required materials through various catalogs and direct contact with suppliers to ensure availability

Compiles detailed cost estimates, including direct and indirect costs, and provides explanations for any figures that exceed limitations

Schedules and monitors production operations, collaborates with various departments to resolve delays, and ensures projects are completed on schedule

For all other applicants, to qualify for the GS-09 grade level, specialized experience must be at the GS-08 grade level or equivalent in the military or private sector

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement

Creditable specialized experience includes: Execute fabrication, overhaul, kit building, and repair of products

Observe and analyze production operations to determine process efficiency and improvements

Coordinates timing and integration of production efforts

Conducts all phases of production planning, including estimating, scheduling, and expediting for repair, modification, and fabrication operations

Plans and oversees production control projects, including inspection, repair, modification, and fabrication or kit building

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
