Foreman I Electrician (Power System)

Responsibilities
Provides leadership for Power Systems Electricians and others in accomplishing all activities required for operating and maintaining and repairing power plant equipment such as the following; transformers, HVAC systems, security systems, metering, relaying, and control systems, SCADA and RTU systems and PLC controls
Responsible for power plant operations, including high voltages switching, switching program development, safe clearance and Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP). Required to perform operational duties such as: starting, stopping, and synchronizing large hydroelectric generators, operating high voltage circuit breakers and disconnect switches, performing inspections on pneumatic, hydraulic, lubricating, and water treatment systems, maintaining station log book, metering and water flow data records, abides by safe clearance procedures and safety practices recognized by the industry
Locates trouble and maintains electrical equipment and related circuitry in high voltage substations and/or hydroelectric generating stations. Installs and/or assists with installation and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic equipment
Schedules maintenance activities, delegates work assignments and demonstrates proper work methods. Assures that needed plans, blueprints, materials and tools are available
Performs job hazard analysis and insures compliance with safe working practices, directs weekly safety meetings, and maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for supplies used in the power plant
Supports the Reclamation Capital Asset Resource Management Application (CARMA), ensuring work orders and job plans are up to date
Qualification
Required
You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation

You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position
You will be required to obtain a successful pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of this position. A physical exam may not be required if a comparable agency approved examination was performed within the last 12 months. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency
Your application materials must demonstrate sufficient experience and training to perform the duties of this position without more than normal supervision
Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position
