REVENUE SUPERVISOR/EXPERT

The Revenue Supervisor/Expert is responsible for managing operations and staff within the Revenue Division, ensuring compliance with tax and child support laws while overseeing the performance and efficiency of the unit.

Responsibilities
Supervise the daily operations of a designated tax or revenue unit (e.g., income tax, motor vehicle services, sales/use tax, collections, or child support services)
Lead and manage staff including Revenue Specialists, Coordinators, and administrative personnel; assign duties, monitor performance, and conduct evaluations
Ensure compliance with Arkansas tax or child support laws and regulations, administrative rules, and internal policies in all operational activities
Serve as the division or section’s subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and interpretation of policy or regulatory changes
Monitor performance metrics, quality assurance standards, and workflow efficiencies; identify and implement operational improvements
Resolve high-level or escalated taxpayer and customer service issues, including those involving disputes, exemptions, compliance notices, and payment discrepancies
Prepare and review financial reports, audits, reconciliations, and operational summaries
Ensure data privacy, security, and integrity in handling taxpayer records, confidential personal information, and financial information
Qualification
Required
An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, economics, social work, or a related field is required, plus three (3) years of related experience including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
A high school diploma plus four (4) years of experience in customer service, bookkeeping, tax preparation, cash handling, data entry, or administrative support including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
In-depth knowledge of Arkansas tax codes, policies, child support law and regulations, or DFA procedures relevant to the assigned program area
Skilled at analyzing complex tax issues, complex child support case issues, interpreting regulations, and making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills for working with taxpayers, customers, staff, and external partners
High level of accuracy and integrity in processing financial data and managing confidential taxpayer and other personal information
