Responsibilities

Act as a trusted subject-matter expert on technical accounting and internal controls for the organization

Lead, coach, and develop teams responsible for financial reporting and general accounting

Stay current on new and proposed accounting and regulatory guidance, including developments from the FASB, SEC, and FERC, and assess impacts to the company

Oversee the design, maintenance, and enhancement of internal control documentation and frameworks

Establish and maintain accounting policies, promoting consistency and standardization across all entities

Prepare accounting position memos for complex, non-routine, or emerging transactions

Conduct and oversee accounting research to support business decisions and reporting conclusions

Evaluate new business initiatives, contracts, and transactions for accounting implications

Manage and support the preparation, review, and filing of external reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, FERC filings, and standalone subsidiary financial statements
