Responsibilities
System Design: Design fire protection and plumbing systems (e.g., sprinkler layouts, fire pump sizing, piping, sanitary, medical gas, domestic water heating, ductwork)
Analysis: Perform system calculations, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, and equipment selections
Documentation: Develop construction documents and job-specific specifications
Field Work: Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction inspections
Collaboration: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients
Leadership: Serve as Engineer of Record and mentor junior staff
Compliance: Ensure compliance with codes such as NFPA, ASHRAE, and IBC
Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in computer-aided design tools and software
Qualification
Required
Healthcare Experience: Required
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited)
Experience: 8+ years as a licensed professional engineer
Computer Skills: Revit, AutoCAD, MEP, MS Office Suite, Trace 3D
Travel: Up to 20% depending on project
Current PE License: Required
Registration: NCEES Registration
Licensure: Licensed in at least one U.S. state
Preferred
Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD), LEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability credentials
