USAJOBS is seeking an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Architect to provide engineering analytical and project management expertise. The primary purpose of this position is to support facility design/acquisition/implementation efforts in support of the United States Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Mission.

Responsibilities

Leads the Wing enterprise's facilities requirements analysis and planning efforts. Exercises authority to represent the Wing's and Intelligence Community's (IC's) operational requirements in continuing formal and informal discussions with host Installation Base Civil Engineers (BCEs), Air Force Installation Mission Support Center(AFIMSC), Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC), the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE),Architecture and Engineering (A&E) firms, general contractors, host nations, and any other party associated with programming, construction, and sustainment of the Wing enterprise facilities
Leads planning and programming for Military Construction (MILCON) projects and Sustainment, Repair &Modernization & Demolition (SRM-D) projects
Provides building and facility design/development/construction oversight through all phases of the project lifecycle
Provides technical expertise to activities, staff, installations, and other organizations in order to resolve difficult/unusual facilities planning, design, construction, and/or maintenance problems/issues, and communicates critical issues to staff agencies, installations, and superiors

All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period
Must be registered for Selective Service
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement
The work will require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position
Work will require travel away from the normal duty station approximately 20% of working time to perform TDY to CONUS and OCONUS locations and to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft
This is an Interdisciplinary position that can be filled as a General Engineer, GG-0801-14, Civil Engineer, GG-0810-14, Mechanical Engineer, GG-0830-14, Electrical Engineer, GG-0850-14, or Architect, GG-0808-14
To qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions
Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET
Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering
Degree: Architecture; or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines
Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture
Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position
Mastery of, and skill in applying advanced concepts, principles, and practice of a wide range of engineering project management disciplines
Comprehensive knowledge of professional engineering or architectural concepts, principles, and practices applicable to project management responsibilities
Professional knowledge of a wide range of engineering or architectural theories, concepts, principles, practices, techniques, and methods
Thorough knowledge of design/construction standards, methods, practices, techniques, materials, and contracting procedures
Knowledge of and skill in applying current US laws and regulations, as they pertain to Facility Engineering
Knowledge of standard programming, budget, and funding processes
Ability to forecast, develop, and evaluate resource requirements pertaining to assigned project(s)
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior officials from a broad array of activities
