Facilities Planning Manager
Wisconsin Public Media, a division of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, is seeking a Facilities Planning Manager to join their team. This role involves applying technical expertise and leadership skills to support media operations, including planning and implementing facilities-related initiatives across the state.

Responsibilities
Serves as the unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information to ensure timely and safe transitioning of major construction or remodeling projects
Collaborates with Division Executives and partners to prepare capital budget requests and project implementation approaches that align with strategic priorities, and address maintenance and renewal of facilities and equipment that conform with compliance standards and ensure high-functioning media production and broadcast
Schedules logistics and secures resources to resolve facility issues, recommending alternatives where necessary
Manages and directs operational functions and planning of one or multiple facilities or projects to foster innovative solutions
Serve as a liaison between WPM and other university divisions (particularly Facilities Planning & Management, “FPM”), fostering strong relationships and cross-functional coordination
Assists with the development, execution, and utilization of strategic planning analysis to determine long term needs and develop sustainable solutions
May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
Reviews, evaluates, approves, and provides recommendations for facility improvements, space assignments, and proposals utilizing best practices and established policies and procedures
Serves as the Divisional Representative to contribute to management of capital projects, including space renovations, furniture and equipment installations, and transmitter site capital renewals, from concept to completion
Assists with developing operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, best practices, and unit objectives
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience in managing facilities, including identifying maintenance, repair, and replacement needs
Exceptional interpersonal collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and contractors
Demonstrated skills organizing, synthesizing, and communicating complex facilities-related content to multiple stakeholder groups
Preferred
Professional project management experience focused on facilities projects
Experience in a public institution of higher education or a state government agency
Experience with Wisconsin state capital budget planning
Understanding of media production and broadcasting
Licensed as a Professional Engineer, Architect, Landscape Architect, or related profession OR maintains certifications, such as Project Management Institute (PMI) PCP certification or similar project management credentials; APPA Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP); IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (SFP), or similar facilities management training and/or credentialing
