Responsibilities
Assisting with grounds and landscape maintenance and repair activities for the sanitary landfill
Perform other duties as assigned
Safely operates City trucks, vehicles, and equipment on and off the public roadways
Reports to supervisor daily assignments completed, work activities, and records
Reports any incident, problem, or question to appropriate supervisor
Follows all safety regulations, policies, and procedures; reports all unsafe conditions and acts to supervisor; reports all accidents to the supervisor immediately whenever possible; follows recognized safe work practices
Qualification
Required
16 years of age or older is required
Valid state-issued driver's license is required
Strong verbal communication skills
Proficient in basic computer skills
Good organizational, judgement, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to follow verbal or written direction/instruction to complete assigned tasks
Ability to interact/respond to citizen inquires or guide them to the appropriate service
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times; address resident and customer concerns in a helpful, courteous manner
Ability to operate City vehicles and equipment in a safe manner
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City appointed and elected officials, Department, Division, and Office heads, City employees, consultants, developers, architects, engineers, realtors, surveyors, community interest groups, other governmental agencies, and the general public
Exhibit exceptional professionalism, tact, and decorum in all areas of work duties
Strong ethics base built upon integrity, honesty, initiative, and respect; maintain strict confidentiality
