Quantitative Researcher
Bowden Brown is seeking a Quantitative Researcher to join their high-performing High-Frequency Trading team. The role involves researching, designing, and implementing alpha signals and predictive models for automated trading strategies, while collaborating closely with other researchers and engineers.
Responsibilities
Research, design, and implement alpha signals, features, and predictive models for automated trading strategies
Apply machine learning and statistical techniques to improve forecasting accuracy and execution quality
Collaborate closely with other researchers and engineers to review ideas, solve complex problems, and iterate quickly
Improve and optimize research tooling and workflows to scale experimentation and insight generation
Contribute to strategic discussions that help shape the future direction of trading and research efforts
Qualification
Required
3+ years' experience in quantitative research within a successful futures or equities trading environment
A proven ability to develop profitable, data-driven trading strategies
Strong foundations in mathematics, statistics, and analytical problem-solving
Experience working on computationally intensive research problems
Degree (BS, MS, or PhD) in a quantitative or technical discipline
Proficiency in Python or C++ (ideally both)
A collaborative mindset
A self-starter who takes ownership, sets ambitious goals, and actively seeks out opportunities to make an impact
