Responsibilities

Provide essential HR support by managing technical human resources processes
Maintain accurate employee records
Serve as a trusted resource for staff and managers
Oversee all aspects of employee leave programs—including FMLA, disability, military, workers’ compensation, and workplace accommodations
Serve as the agency’s Vacation Donation Coordinator
Process human resources transactions in SEMA4
Maintain electronic personnel files in EDMS/FILENET
Provide administrative and technical support to the HR team

Required

Two (2) years of human resources (HR) experience that includes at least four of the following: Experience must include: Experience using HR data management systems such as SEMA4 (Statewide Employee Management), Peoplesoft or similar systems
Administering FMLA and other types of leave requests including determining eligibility and evaluating, processing, and tracking requests
Applying federal, state, and/or employment contract language, personnel rules, policies, and procedures as it pertains to employee benefits, transactions and/or payroll
Processing data in an HR data management system or electronic applicant tracking system sufficient to maintain accurate records
Maintaining HR records such as personnel, hiring, training and medical files
Skills using an HR information system (HRIS) sufficient to review, enter and maintain employee and position information
Skill in Microsoft Office suite of products (such as Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint), as well as Adobe Acrobat
Strong oral communication skills sufficient to relay sensitive/personal information via email and in producing a wide variety of documents such as memos, letters, and forms making changes to align with policy and procedures
Customer service skills sufficient to assist with and respond to requests from internal and external customers in a tactful, effective and timely manner

Preferred

Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
Skills using PeopleSoft/SEMA4 sufficient to review employee and position information, pull standard reports, and process personnel transactions
Working knowledge of the AFSCME, MAPE and MMA collective bargaining agreements; Commissioners and Managerial Plans; rules and laws (i.e. FMLA, Affirmative Action and Data Practices) that affect Human Resources
