Human Resources Generalist

Town & Country Engineering, Inc. is a Consulting Engineering Firm providing Municipal, Water and Wastewater Engineering Services for over 40 years, and they are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their team at their Madison office. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HR support, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and enforcing HR best practices.

Responsibilities

Ability to assist with a variety of responsibilities, from recruitment and onboarding to administration of benefits packages, FMLA leave policies, conduct company cultural surveys, creating and maintaining succession plans and enforcing company-wide policies
Schedule and participate in career/job fairs promoting Marsh and open positions
Schedule background checks and verify validity of all submitted identification materials and documentation including I-9 information of applicants
Ensures that all hiring and recruitment processes follow all local, state and federal laws
Assist in interviewing applicants in collaboration with management
Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations
Offboarding employees and all the steps necessary to successfully part ways with an employee following their resignation or termination, ensuring a smooth transition for both the company and the departing employee
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or 10-years' experience in a related field required
Talent acquisition: Ability to recruit professionals in all areas of the company, able to onboard and retain and offboard individuals as needed
Communication skills: The right person will convey information clearly by articulating, sharing ideas, have empathy and compassion, have an open mind, encourage conversations, engage with large audiences, public speaking, and good writing skills
Organizational skills: An HR generalist must be able to easily access and store many types of information daily
Confidentiality: An HR generalist handles confidential and sensitive information that must not be shared with others

Preferred

Minimum 4 to 5 years of human resource management experience preferred
Certification in SHRM, PHR is preferred
Experience in Deltek – Ajera would be a plus
Some travel may be required (approximately 1 to 3 overnights per year)
