Responsibilities

Manage the decommissioning/installation of optical network infrastructure

Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of old gear as part of upgrade cycles

Verify design to network and confirm material and physical network to design to satisfy work requests

Coordinate with other teams to complete work requests, including creating detailed MOPs for Change Requests

Provide Tier II technical support for Provisioning, ENOC, and Operations personnel

Execute scheduled maintenance window activities for network maintenance, augments, optimizations, or troubleshooting

Maintain accurate ticket status and manage multiple tasks across various assignments

Work in a 24/7 on-call rotation as needed to support trouble tickets and break/fix scenarios

Required

Proficiency in optical transport networks, including OTN, SONET, and DWDM

Experience with primary equipment such as Nokia PSS/1830, CISCO NCS2015, and Ciena 6500

Strong understanding of optical network theory and base troubleshooting

Familiarity with routing protocols and optical transport systems

Experience in deployment, provisioning, and decommissioning of network optical elements and services

Ability to interpret complex work packages/network designs and execute tasks accordingly
