Finance (FP&A) Manager

Sparks Group is seeking a Finance (FP&A) Manager who will report directly to the General Manager and oversee a team of 2–3 employees. This role is critical in owning financial reporting, leading forecasting activities, and serving as the primary liaison to the corporate finance team.

Responsibilities

Maintain full ownership of the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow/Net Working Capital
Collaborate with local leadership to develop and deliver the Annual Financial Plan
Lead profitability reviews and forecasting discussions, offering insights that guide results-oriented decision-making
Identify and implement operational and financial improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability
Lead, mentor, and support a team of 2–3 office staff to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities
Oversee financial reporting for projects, maintenance contracts, and enhancement work, including profitability analysis and pipeline management
Manage the monthly close process; review monthly results for accuracy and explain variances against forecasts
Act as the primary point of contact for the corporate accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial data
Prepare monthly and quarterly city and state tax filings
Develop and deliver financial trainings and educational resources for the business as needed
Partner with corporate teams on upcoming system integrations and process improvements
Participate in ad hoc projects as required

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
7+ years progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 2 years in a related industry (engineering, construction, design/build)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills
Experience with QuickBooks and Tier 2 ERP systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite)
Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
Demonstrated experience leading a small team
Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills

Preferred

Spanish fluency is a plus
