Responsibilities
Provide coaching and oversight to a team of tax professionals primarily focused on sales and use tax compliance for our clients
Prepare and/or review state sales/use tax returns in various jurisdictions across the U.S
Prepare and/or review local business personal property tax listings
Respond to tax notices and interact with state/local tax assessors/auditors
Prepare tax technical memorandums and correspondence
Research complex tax issues using federal & state revenue codes, regulations and other relevant authorities/guidance
Participate in modeling & negotiations with economic development agencies & local taxing authorities to identify incentive offerings for clients
Lead in the analysis of state & local tax planning opportunities for our clients
Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis
Develop and lead state tax training for other internal and client tax professionals
Qualification
Required
5 years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting or professional services firm is encouraged
Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate with peers and subordinates
Superior client service focus
Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Integrity, dependability, and trustworthiness
Strong computer skills with general office use software and an ability to adapt to new software applications required in a tax environment
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
Preferred
Master's degree in accounting
Certified Public Accounting designation
