Responsibilities

Research Locations: Work with our real estate broker to remotely identify viable school locations in major US metros based on our specific characteristics
Site Selection: Travel to target markets to tour sites, assessing visibility, demographics, and suitability for our school layout
Deal Making: Negotiate Letters of Intent (LOIs) and Leases, securing favorable terms on rent and build-out periods
Manage the Build: Hire and oversee local contractors to perform necessary work (framing, painting, flooring) to transform a shell into a Payam Music school
Stay on Track: Execute rigorous management of the budget and timeline to ensure we open on schedule, collaborating closely with leadership and the School Director
Boots on the Ground: Be on-site for the final setup phase. You aren’t just supervising; you are executing
Logistics: Receive deliveries, order pianos, and coordinate logistics
Setup: Find and manage handymen to assemble furniture, hang signage, and execute the interior decorating plan
Tech Readiness: Ensure the school is online—setting up the internet, testing printers, and configuring security systems
The "Rigorous Handoff": Conduct a white-glove turnover process with the new School Director, training them on all facility systems (keys, alarm, HVAC)
Ongoing Support: Serve as the primary contact for facility-related issues after opening, helping School Directors solve facility-related problems quickly

Required

3+ years in multi-unit retail expansion, new store openings, or facilities management
Experience negotiating with, hiring, and managing vendors (painters, framers, flooring specialists)
Comfortable reviewing a commercial lease
Ability to assemble furniture
Strong project management skills
Ability to travel significantly to scout locations and oversee launch weeks
Experience with project plans and Gantt charts

Preferred

Experience with chains like Starbucks, Chipotle, or boutique fitness/tutoring
