The Regional Head of External Affairs will manage Eaton’s government affairs portfolio, focusing on building relationships with local officials to secure entry agreements and permits needed for the network build.

Responsibilities
Develop and manage execution of government affairs strategy to secure necessary licenses, agreements, and approvals from state and local governments to support network construction
Hire and effectively manage external consultants in local markets to expedite regulatory and government approvals for network construction and business operations
Work closely with construction and business operations teams to ensure business priorities are addressed in any government approvals
Support network construction process by resolving any government concerns regarding construction process
Monitor policy (legislative or executive branch) developments at the state and federal levels that could impact business operations and build timing
Develop and execute plan to build strategic relationships with targeted state and federal officials, informed by the business growth plan
Identify influential stakeholders at the local and state level and develop relationships with such stakeholders to support business expansion
Identify compliance obligations relating to government/regulatory approvals and ensure clear ownership of compliance obligations to support positive relationships for Eaton with government officials
Advise leadership on policy risks and opportunities
Qualification
Required
15+ years in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory roles
Strong knowledge of telecom and broadband regulatory requirements, including local market entry processes and state certification requirements
Experience working with multi-level governmental and community partners to support infrastructure improvements
Experience working with government agencies and elected officials
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Functions effectively as team leader and collaborator on executive leadership team
Creative problem solver focused on outcomes and resilient in the face of challenges
Success in an entrepreneurial environment and able to span from strategic planning to execution in support of business objectives
