Quality Engineering Summer Intern
GM Performance Power Units is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern to support inspection and measurement activities for their Formula 1 power unit components. This internship offers hands-on experience in high-precision manufacturing and quality processes while working alongside experienced engineers.

Responsibilities
Assist with day to day quality operations along with special projects
Conduct inspections and measurements of precision components under supervision
Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support root cause investigations and process improvements
Help maintain the metrology lab, including equipment calibration and organization
Support creation of measurement documentation, control plans, and quality records
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to learn quality processes and ensure compliance with standards
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
Interest in quality assurance, metrology, or manufacturing processes
Basic familiarity with CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel)
Coursework involving precision measurement
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Collaboration: Works effectively with internal teams and external partners
Adaptability: Responds effectively to evolving business needs and opportunities
Growth mindset
Ability to manage multiple projects independently
Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to follow instructions
Ability to stand, walk, and move in diverse operational environments, including race shops, arenas, and commercial facilities
Comfortable working in variable environmental conditions, including loud, high-traffic, or high-pressure environments
