Responsibilities
Work as a R&D Technician building self-driving technology – this Includes vehicle build, sub-assembly, PCBA solder/rework, and harness build/assembly
Candidates must possess excellent documentation practices
Work closely with Hardware Engineering and associated teams
Follow safety standards and meet internal deadlines
Work with limited oversight
Seek continuing education and development opportunities
Maintain and repair equipment as necessary, implement upgrades
Contribute to the overall team's success providing support in other areas of the R&D shops, i.e. electrical, fabrication, manufacturing, etc
Able to read and comprehend engineered drawings
Design parts/fixtures to aid in fabrication
Document fixtures, designs, processes created in the machine shop to archive for later use
Qualification
Required
Minimum 7 years of direct experience in automotive, trucking, or prototyping spaces
Must possess excellent communication skills
Deep knowledge of automotive and trucking systems, tooling, and mechanical assemblies
Strong mechanical skills, ability to read schematics and layouts, and assemble mechanical systems
Ability to problem-solve, diagnose, analyze and isolate problems
Proficiency with Windows, Mac, or Linux
Able to work independently and in a team environment
A can-do customer service attitude with the ability to multitask under pressure in an unstructured environment
Operate in a high paced R&D, Rapid Prototyping environment
Contribute to the overall team's success providing support in other areas of the R&D shops, i.e. electrical, fabrication, manufacturing, etc
Maintain and repair equipment as necessary, implement upgrades
Familiar with CAD software, SolidWorks and/or Catia preferred
Able to read and comprehend engineered drawings
Design parts/fixtures to aid in fabrication
Document fixtures, designs, processes created in the machine shop to archive for later use
Preferred
Certification and training in GD&T
Experience with Jira, Confluence, ERP, PLM, CAD, and various other software tools
Experience with Instrumentation (i.e. thermal test set ups, fluid dynamics, air pressure, load cells, etc.)
