Responsibilities
Partner with Operations leadership to identify, prioritize, and manage critical data elements that support efficiency, compliance, and risk management
Serve as a key bridge between business teams and centralized data governance and IT organizations, translating operational needs into actionable data requirements
Lead the development of core data governance artifacts including business glossaries, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and data quality rules
Monitor and report on data quality metrics, conduct root cause analysis, and support remediation of priority data issues
Design future-state governance frameworks and roadmaps, presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Evaluate governance maturity, identify gaps, and recommend improvements within assigned domains
Facilitate resolution of data ownership and definition conflicts across business units
Build strong cross-functional partnerships through consistent collaboration and communication
Support policy implementation by providing oversight and supplemental guidance where needed
Collect insights from stakeholder discussions to develop clear, actionable reporting and analysis
Present findings, trends, and recommendations to senior leaders to support informed decision-making
Prepare and analyze complex datasets for accurate and timely management reporting
Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts on data analysis practices and governance standards
Recommend solutions to complex business challenges while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
9+ years of experience in audit, regulatory, compliance, operational, or financial roles with a strong focus on data governance
Deep understanding of data governance disciplines including metadata management, data quality, and data stewardship
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within the financial services industry
Strong ability to analyze business processes and systems, assess data-related challenges, and recommend scalable solutions
Experience profiling data to assess structure, accuracy, relationships, and fitness for analytics and decision-making
Ability to define, implement, and maintain data quality standards and business definitions for operational data
Familiarity with data architecture concepts, data models, BI tools (e.g., Power BI), and analytics or AI integrations
Proven ability to work across multiple business lines and facilitate large, cross-functional initiatives
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently at all organizational levels
High level of discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information
Results-driven mindset with the ability to meet strict deadlines in dynamic environments
Preferred
Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python
