Responsibilities

Sets the vision and directs the IT Division’s Business Services organization, which includes application development services, cloud engineering, and solution architecture functions, to foster a business-oriented culture and mindset that delivers high-impact user services
Oversees and optimizes a diverse business portfolio comprising both SaaS and custom-developed solutions; makes strategic decisions on build versus buy approaches based on customer requirements; evaluates opportunities to rationalize applications; and ensures the automation portfolio remains aligned with business capabilities, cost objectives, and industry best practices
Establishes enterprise cloud-native application standards and architecture patterns while maintaining ownership of the business portfolio and development lifecycle; leads the modernization of development practices through automated DevOps pipelines and testing; defines API integration frameworks and data management approaches that enable scalable, secure, cloud solutions; implements application-level security controls and monitoring to ensure reliability and performance; balances investments across new features and technical debt reduction to maximize business value from cloud solutions
Drives enterprise agile strategy that is aligned with business objectives; oversee implementation of agile adoption across multiple teams and champion agile transformation initiatives that improve time-to-market and product quality; cultivate an agile-minded leadership culture that balances innovation with operational excellence
Leads the development of the Business Services function strategy and roadmap; ensures its integration with the Board’s strategic planning processes and the resulting execution plans
Serves as a trusted partner to Board business leaders and builds strong relationships to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of information technology services to meet those needs and can respond with agility to changing business priorities. Uses influence and negotiation skills to create synergies across the enterprise to enable cost-effective and robust shared solutions
Stays abreast of new technologies and platforms and provides direction on what emerging technologies will be introduced and integrated within the enterprise. Provides strategic direction to the organization’s innovation efforts and fulfillment of the technology business strategy
Develops and maintains an IT workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills, and competencies that balance the needs between growing the agility required to achieve business objectives and ensuring that core information technology functions are reliable, robust, and efficient
Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to the Business Services leadership team and staff. Sets priorities, ensures accountability, reviews work products, and facilitates talent management and succession planning to ensure continuous development of skills, competencies, and the talent pipeline
Serves on enterprise leadership committees to shape technology strategy and drive transformation initiatives to ensure solutions deliver optimal value to enterprise. Assists in the design, implementation, and support of the enterprise IT operating model, governance processes, and IT best practices
Develops and controls annual operating and capital expenditure budget for Business Services organization and ensures it is consistent with overall strategic business objectives
Negotiates effectively and resolves conflicts to achieve technology goals while maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders. Demonstrates balanced judgement and well-reasoned, objective decision making in situations that may involve complex issues and potentially adversarial circumstances. Demonstrates a capacity to identify and pursue multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver sustained, high-quality results

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Fifteen years of experience
At least 10 years of previous management experience required

Preferred

Extensive experience leading and implementing cloud operations at enterprise scale
Proven ability to lead technology teams using agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
Track record of successfully driving large-scale technology and organizational transformation initiatives
Consistent track record of delivering measurable business value through technology initiatives
Strong capability in managing complex change, including stakeholder communications and organizational adoption strategies
Experience running large-scale technology operations with high reliability and performance requirements
Demonstrated expertise in outcomes-based sourcing strategies and vendor management
