Sr Medical Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

Lead definition of incremental features such as essential characteristics, accessories, and alarms within SEALM/Jama Connect
Gather stakeholder inputs and best practices from key product teams
Develop “standard work” proposals including process definitions, training materials, and tool configurations
Refer to applicable GEHC internal standards, work instructions, and external regulatory standards
Identify corner-case users and validate standard work proposals to establish MVP processes
Communicate new processes to the broader user community
Collect and triage user feedback into must-fix issues, productivity improvements, and optional enhancements
Submit formal change requests and manage them through deployment
Create summaries explaining triage decisions and tailoring guidelines
Develop and deliver training for each implemented feature
Monitor enhancement requests after deployment and iterate improvements
Work with design leads to identify and align feature clusters
Collaborate with teams to address country-specific scope including language and regulatory requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum 7 years of systems engineering experience
Minimum 3 years of experience working with ALM tools (e.g., Jama, DOORS)
Minimum 3 years of design engineering/product development experience
Experience working in cross-functional, global teams
Familiarity with regulatory, design, and safety standards

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in design/product development of medical devices
Strong knowledge of medical device regulatory and safety standards (ISO, FDA, IEC 60601 series)
Experience working with external partners and universities
Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly
Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and teach systems engineering concepts
