Program Manager
Green Building United (GBU) is a 501(c)3 organization based in Philadelphia that promotes a healthy, resilient, and thriving built environment for all. The Program Manager supports and manages several of GBU’s building energy and climate resilience initiatives, collaborating with internal staff, municipal partners, and technical experts to ensure effective program operations and delivery.

Responsibilities
The Program Manager supports and manages several of GBU’s building energy and climate resilience initiatives in partnership with other members of GBU’s program team
This role works closely with internal staff, municipal partners, nonprofit organizations, and technical experts to support program operations, coordination, and delivery
Assist with onboarding and coordination of tune-up specialists
Review submissions and act as a resource for reports provided to the City’s Office of Sustainability
Support compliance tracking and program coordination
Assist the Benchmarking Program Manager with support tickets for Philadelphia
Support building owners and stakeholders with reporting processes using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
Support policy adoption for pilot municipalities in Southeastern Pennsylvania
Work with Benchmarking Program Manager to educate building owners and operators on new benchmarking requirements
Providing technical assistance to William Penn Foundation nonprofit grantees to incorporate sustainability and climate resiliency into capital plans
Maintain trackers, surveys, budgets, and shared folders
Participate in relevant meetings with community partners and stakeholders
Support resource development, expert matching, and documentation related to project needs
Support logistics and planning for Hub events and workshops
Support technical assistance meetings
Maintain and update program databases and resources
Qualification
Required
Relevant degree (environmental studies, architecture, engineering, energy management, or similar) or equivalent professional experience
Experience managing or supporting multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
Experience working on sustainability, climate resilience, or environmental programs
Intellectually curious problem solver: enjoys investigating how to leverage tools and platforms to enhance organizational efficiency
Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language
Experience supporting educational events or multi-partner initiatives
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Collaborative, flexible team player willing to support varied tasks
Preferred
Experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, Building Energy Analysis Manager (BEAM), or utility data management tools
Experience tracking communications or data in a CRM system
