Responsibilities
Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel
Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams
Take responsibility for operations of production section including utilization, morale, quality control, and marketing support
Implement, monitor, and support company policy
Supervise engineers and junior staff including time/expense approvals, monitoring utilization, workload planning, annual performance conversations, and similar responsibilities
Function as the Project Manager on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects
Take responsibility for area coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of business class staff and products
See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management
Collaborate on business class efforts with area operations, marketing, project managers, and project delivery staff
Participate in business class practice and professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices, and implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews
Conduct QC reviews where appropriate or assist technical teams in finding appropriate reviewers
Support Market Sector Lead and Client Development Lead in marketing planning, proposals, and interviews
Participate in business class strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation
Drive area initiatives that are relative to the business class
Perform other duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Personnel management including performance reviews, salary adjustments, staff selection, development and morale
Identifying, obtaining and assigning appropriate resources to projects to meet budget, schedule and scope requirements
Quality control
Supporting pursuits and opportunities with new and existing clients
Demonstrating an outgoing personality with strong people and organizational skills
Experience with a wide variety of project types and multiple clients
Functioning as the Project Manager on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects
Compliance with all internal and contractual requirements associated with producing project deliverables
QA/QC program compliance
Budget and schedule monitoring and reporting
Client service management
Area coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of business class staff and products
Planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating work through proactive project management

Preferred
Master's degree is a plus
10 years of experience in water and/or wastewater treatment
Active engagement in professional or industry organizations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand both locally
Proven leadership and mentoring skills that are necessary to grow and lead a business group
Strong technical background and experience in planning and design
Strong active listening and communication skills
