Research Associate

Responsibilities
Duties assigned to this title will require an in-depth knowledge of a specialized field, process, or discipline and may involve organizing and implementing complex research plans, the development of methods of research, testing and data collection, analysis and evaluation, and writing reports (weekly reports and progress reports) containing descriptive, analytical and evaluative content
The duties will require the exercise of independent discretion and judgment in carrying out research activities within the predetermined research scope and methodology
Participates in research studies to include molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, MTT assay, RNA extractions, real time PCR, western blots, biochemical determinations, cell transfections, anesthesia, injections, aseptic work, animal handling, and tissue excision
Maintains inventory and supplies needed for the research lab
Coordinates from various collaborating departments and collaborates with
Responsible for statistical analyses of data and writing up
Demonstrates leadership in presentation materials and manuscript
Assists divisional staff members and other collaborators in the
Analyzes and records research data, submit weekly reports to the
Maintains related correspondence and regulatory paperwork
Presents research papers at
Assist the program in mentoring and providing oversight for student
Perform other related duties as
Qualification
Required
Regionally accredited doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or master's degree required in biomedical science related area
Three years related experience in molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, RNA extractions, real time PCR, western blots, biochemical determinations, plasmid preparation and analysis, cell transfections; anesthesia, injections, aseptic work, animal handling, and tissue excision
Prior statistical experience with quantitative data analysis and proficiency with commonly used statistical/numerical software
Laboratory skills needed including ability to perform biochemical assays and molecular biology techniques
Computer skills
Written and oral communication skills
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Committed to a career in biomedical science
Ability to work effectively with a diverse population
The ideal candidate will be seeking a career in Biomedical Science and able to make a long-term commitment
