Responsibilities
Maintain day-to-day communication with program managers and all appropriate program team members
Manage their own time and activities to meet project milestones
Assist in the design and development of complex electro-mechanical medical devices and equipment. Participate in a variety of manufacturing processes, including injection molding of plastics, machining methods, rapid prototyping techniques, etc
Assist in development of detailed computer-aided design (CAD) packages to include 3D data and 2D drawings
Collaborate with electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and industrial designers to develop technologies and designs
Support ideation sessions and fast to feasibility projects
Develop and execute prototype testing plans and protocols
Assist in compliance with medical device regulations and standards
Functions as mechanical engineering team member on product development programs
Qualification
Required
2-4 years college experience toward Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Industrial Design AND tracking to receive a Bachelors degree (of Science, of Fine Arts, etc) in that discipline
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office and SolidWorks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Preferred
Any additional experience outside of academics with complex, electro-mechanical products is a plus
