The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical expertise and coordinate day-to-day deliverables for the team, including assisting in the technical design of large business systems and contributing to best practices and standards.

Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise and coordinate for day to day deliverables for the team

Assist in the technical design of large business systems

Build applications, interfaces between applications

Understand data security, retention, and recovery

Research on technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions

Contribute to technology-specific best practices & standards

Contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability and scalability

Contribute expertise on significant application components, program languages, databases, operating systems, etc

Guide/mentor the team during the build and test phases

Required

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education

At least 4 years of Information Technology experience

Candidate must be located within commuting distance of St Louis, Missouri or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations

Experience in PostgreSQL, experience in Oracle Linux Enterprise

Preferred

Experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of EDB Postgres, Postgres Distributed and AWS RDS

Deep understanding of EDB Postgres architecture and internals

Proficient in PostgreSQL installation and configuration, especially PostgreSQL Plus Advanced Server and Postgres Distributed from EnterpriseDB

Skilled in PostgreSQL monitoring and alerting tools, particularly PEM. Familiarity with observability tools like Splunk and Dynatrace is a plus

Experienced in setting up, configuring, and monitoring PostgreSQL binary and logical replication (e.g., Binary Streaming, Bi-Directional Replication - BDR)

Proficient in Linux, especially Oracle Linux Enterprise

Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, KSH, and Perl
