They are seeking a Junior Data Engineer to support the development and maintenance of data pipelines, working closely with senior engineers and data scientists to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines used to ingest, process, and store financial data
Develop and maintain Python-based tools for data retrieval, transformation, validation, and analysis
Monitor data pipelines and help identify, diagnose, and resolve data quality or operational issues
Support the onboarding of new data sources for both historical research and real-time trading systems
Perform exploratory and validation analyses to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness
Contribute to internal monitoring, logging, and reporting tools
Work in a Linux-based, distributed computing environment
Collaborate closely with senior data engineers, data scientists, portfolio managers, researchers, and trading operations staff
Proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, or clarity within existing systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related quantitative discipline
Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with libraries such as Pandas and NumPy
Demonstrate problem-solving ability and willingness to take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion
Familiarity with data processing concepts such as ETL, data validation, and schema management
Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to learn new tools, systems, and domains
No prior experience in finance is required
Preferred
Basic experience with one or more of the following is a plus: SQL / relational databases (e.g., Postgres), Linux/UNIX environments and command-line tools, Version control systems (e.g., Git)
