Responsibilities
Secure and operate production systems running in classified and air-gapped environments
Partner directly with software and infrastructure engineers to harden systems at the OS, network, and platform layers
Design and implement technical security controls across compute, networking, identity, and logging
Perform system hardening, vulnerability remediation, patching, and secure configuration management
Support deployments into customer and government environments, including constrained and disconnected systems
Investigate security findings and incidents by working directly in the environment rather than handing off tickets
Build and maintain security logging, monitoring, and auditability into deployed systems
Contribute to architecture and design decisions to ensure security is built in early, not bolted on later
Support authorization and compliance activities as a byproduct of well-secured systems, including RMF and ATO efforts
Qualification
Required
Active Secret Clearance required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent hands-on experience
5+ years of experience securing real systems in production environments, preferably in government or regulated settings
Strong Linux systems experience, including hardening, troubleshooting, and operational ownership
Experience securing cloud or hybrid infrastructure, including compute, networking, and identity components
Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and 800-171 from an implementation perspective, not just documentation
Experience operating in classified or air-gapped environments
Ability to debug and remediate security issues directly in systems and infrastructure
Strong communication skills and comfort working closely with engineering teams
Active DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher
U.S. citizenship required
Preferred
Experience securing AWS GovCloud or similarly restricted cloud environments
Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code or automation tools
Background securing platforms used for data processing, simulation, or distributed systems
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and translating findings into concrete fixes
Experience supporting authorization efforts for systems you actively helped build and operate
