Overdose Fatality Review Coordinator HEALTH POLICY ANALYST I
The State of Maryland is seeking an Overdose Fatality Review Coordinator to support the activities of the Overdose Fatality Review program within the Behavioral Health Administration. The role involves developing state-level partnerships, providing technical assistance to local teams, and improving public health surveillance and prevention programs.

Responsibilities
Support the activities of the OFR program through the intermediate level of work developing state-level partnerships with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area's (HIDTA) Heroin Coordinator Program and the Overdose Response Strategy teams supported by the Center for Harm Reduction Services to improve recommendation implementation and alignment with promising and evidence-based interventions
Provide enhanced technical assistance to Local Overdose Fatality Review Teams (LOFRTs) to identify and address disparities and standardize processes and protocols for utilizing the OFR dashboard and recommendation tracker
Have flexible responsibilities to support public health surveillance and prevention programs within BHA and across MDH and will aid in the facilitation of coordination between State and local agencies
Improve LOFRT's ability to identify and address disparities and standardize processes and protocols statewide
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs
Possession of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland
Preferred
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in public health, public policy, social work, behavioral health, epidemiology or a closely related field
Professional experience in public health program management, policy analysis, or behavioral health systems at the state or local government level
Strong technical skills in federal grant management and compliance, particularly with programs administered by the CDC or SAMHSA
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation and in the development and implementation of evidence-based prevention strategies
Knowledge of overdose prevention, substance use disorder prevention, mental health promotion and Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) processes, as well as familiarity with OD2A initiatives and interagency coordination
