Research
Responsibilities
Prepare, review and reconcile financial transactions in Workday. Responsible for recording and tracking revenue and expenses. Process needed corrections via journal entries and/or payroll accounting adjustments as appropriate. Monitor departmental budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with approval financial plans
Serve as a liaison between the department and University Accounting and Budget offices. Assist in developing financial reports, forecasts and analysis for departmental leadership. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Train or provide guidance to departmental staff on basic financial procedures and systems
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
Two years of experience with accounting or other financial experience
Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply— a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description
Cash Handling - This position has access to/directly handles cash. Financial history/credit check required per FASOP HR-04
All candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain that valid work authorization throughout employment
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Experience with University or public sector accounting
Familiarity with Workday
Knowledge of grant accounting, fund accounting or restricted funds management
