Manager, Community Schools United
United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley is focused on addressing non-academic barriers to learning through its Community Schools United initiative. The Community Schools Manager will advance the implementation of this strategy by strengthening internal systems, leading outreach and partner engagement, and coordinating cross-sector collaborations.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership to advance the Community Schools vision, ensuring high-quality implementation across all sites and alignment with the four Community Schools pillars, the logic model, and school improvement plans
Supervise, coach, and support Community School Coordinators through regular check-ins, observations, and feedback, including evaluating individual and program development needs, guiding data collection, and promoting continuous quality improvement
Build and maintain strong relationships with Coordinators, principals, partners, community leaders, and volunteers to strengthen collaboration and engagement
Develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies , including co-creating opportunities with school leaders and partners, coordinating calendars, partner meetings, reminders, and volunteer activities to align with school priorities and strategy goals
Proactively identify and onboard new partners and resources to expand supports for students, families, and schools, while maintaining existing partnerships and cross-sector collaboration with district departments, city agencies, service providers, and other United Way initiatives
Coordinate site visits, learning tours, trainings, and engagement activities to reinforce best practices, provide guidance, and deepen understanding among staff, partners, and community members
Lead systems, tools, and process development , including needs assessments, provider databases, service tracking, communication structures, and strategy-wide data systems, ensuring efficient implementation and reporting
Monitor, track, and report on data and outcomes , including overseeing Coordinators’ data collection, strategy metrics, grant requirements, provider performance, and community impact to inform decision-making and continuous improvement
Manage logistics and communications , including master calendars, school programs, events, outreach activities, distribution of materials, and timely updates to staff, principals, partners, committees, and providers
Provide administrative and program support , including assisting with school site coverage, performing other tasks as assigned, and ensuring effective day-to-day operations in support of Community Schools strategy implementation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum of three years of experience in social services, education, community organizing, or nonprofit work
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach staff, manage multiple projects, and oversee day-to-day operations in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
Proven success in initiating, developing, and sustaining partnerships with schools, community organizations, volunteers, and cross-sector stakeholders
Experience co-creating engagement opportunities aligned with organizational strategy and school improvement goals
Experience developing and executing short- and long-term plans, managing logistics and calendars, coordinating events, and aligning efforts with strategic frameworks such as Community Schools pillars or collective impact models
Strong experience collecting, analyzing, and using data for decision-making, reporting, and continuous improvement
Ability to oversee staff data collection and ensure alignment with strategy metrics, grants, and organizational goals
Experience designing and delivering training, coaching, or professional development programs for staff, partners, and volunteers
Understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma, and resiliency, and their impact on children, families, and communities
Ability to integrate this knowledge into program design and staff guidance
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, listen actively, and maintain cultural competency in all interactions
Proficiency in MS Office and other technology tools
Comfortable learning new systems for data collection, reporting, and communication
Experience managing operational budgets and coordinating resource allocation
Valid driver's license, proof of automobile insurance, and access to reliable transportation
Flexible schedule required to meet the needs of schools, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends to support volunteer projects, before-school events, and afterschool activities
Ability to work independently or collaboratively in diverse settings
