Environment, Health and Safety Manager
The ASSURANCE group is a growing manufacturer seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join their team. The Environmental Health Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations, managing hazardous waste, and leading cross-functional teams on safety and environmental initiatives.
Responsibilities
In-depth understanding of environmental laws and regulations such as: EPA (air, water, hazardous waste, stormwater, spill response, chemical storage), RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act – hazardous waste handling), CERCLA/SARA Title III/EPCRA (reporting requirements for hazardous materials), Clean Air Act & Clean Water Act compliance
Knowledge of OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910/1926) for workplace safety and how they tie into environmental risks
Experience with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) frameworks
Hazardous waste management (cradle-to-grave responsibility)
Spill prevention and response planning (SPCC Plans)
Air emissions tracking, permitting, and reporting
Wastewater discharge compliance (permits, monitoring, reporting)
Chemical management: Safety Data Sheets (SDS), GHS labeling, chemical compatibility
Environmental audits, inspections, and corrective action planning
Sustainability & environmental impact reduction initiatives (energy efficiency, recycling, carbon footprint reduction)
Experience leading cross-functional teams (production, quality, maintenance, HR) on safety & environmental initiatives
Ability to interface with regulatory agencies (EPA, OSHA, DEP/DEC, local municipalities)
Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis background
ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor Certification
Qualification
Required
