ASSISTANT SPACE PLAN SURVEYOR

They are seeking two Assistant Space Plan Surveyors to assist in the production and maintenance of architectural drawings and conduct on-site surveys to ensure accurate spatial data integration in their facilities management system.

Responsibilities
Asist in the production and maintenance of architectural drawings and Building Information Modeling (BIM) assets, ensuring accurate integration of spatial data into the Division of Space Management (DSM) system known as Archibus
Conduct on-site surveys and inspections of agency facilities to verify, correct, and collect spatial data used in producing accurate CAD drawings and BIM models, ensuring alignment with actual conditions and space documentation requirements
Define and draw departmental space allocations using Archibus tools, capturing accurate occupancy classifications, adjacency relationships, and space utilization metrics
Maintain spatial data in the Archibus space management system, ensuring accurate linkage between CAD/BIM files and real-time space records. Processes move management data (Moves, Adds, Changes), reflecting agency relocations and reconfigurations
Participate in inventory tracking of vacant and occupied spaces in City-owned and leased properties, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the portfolio database
Assist in preparing reports and spatial analyses based on field survey data, schematic layouts, and agency documentation to support informed decision-making by senior management and collaborate with architects, engineers, and space planners in efforts to improve efficiency, optimize workflows, and make data-driven space planning recommendations
Qualification
Required
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and one year of satisfactory, full-time experience in the evaluation and layout of space in office buildings, garages and other structures used for commercial and industrial purposes. Such experience must have included projects requiring knowledge of construction needs and cost, installation of computer equipment and telephone communication systems, and building standards and leasing procedures; or
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization, and five years of satisfactory, full-time experience, as described in '1' above. College education obtained from an accredited college or university accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), may be substituted for up to four years of experience on the basis of 30 semester credits for one year. However, all candidates must have one year of experience described in '1' above
To be qualified for assignment to Assignment Level II, individuals must have two additional years of the experience described in '1' above, as follows: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and three years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in '1' above; or A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and seven years of satisfactory, full-time experience, as described in '1' above
Preferred
Knowledge of data management, real estate, facility management, and/or asset management is a plus
Proficiency in Revu Bluebeam
Proficiency in Microsoft office
AutoCAD and REVIT drafting
Understanding of construction documents, as-built drawings, and schedules
